How to Clean Custom Entry Doors
Your custom entry doors are the first thing someone sees when entering your house. Keeping them clean can give a solid first impression every time.
Materials for Cleaning Your Custom Entry Doors
To clean your doors, gather a few cleaning items:
- Multi-purpose cleanser
- Wood cleaner for wooden doors
- Glass cleaner for windows
- Small broom and dustpan
- Vacuum with attachment
- Cleaning clothes
- Old toothbrush
If these things are ready, your cleaning job should go much smoother.
The Custom Entry Doors Cleaning Process
Open the door and use a cleaning cloth and appropriate cleanser and clean the top edge first. If you can't reach the top comfortably, use the stepstool. From there work your way down the sides of the door.
Then go back up and clean the top of the inside of the door frame, working your way down. Pay extra attention to the hinges, as lubricant can leak.
Go to the bottom of the door frame and use the broom, dustpan and vacuum along the edges of the door jamb. Dirt in these areas is often overlooked.
Get a clean cloth and clean the front and back sides of the door. Use a multi-purpose cleaner on the door handles and any fixtures on the door. If there is any ornamental carving on the door, spend extra time there with the wood cleaner.
Finally, wipe down any windows with the glass cleaner. It's important to save the windows for the final step as other cleaners may leave splotches on the glass, and it would have to be cleaned twice.
